The "Glen Lea Neighbourhood", Acton:
The established neighbourhood of Glen Lea is located on the southeast side of Acton.
Most of the homes are smaller brick bungalows that were constructed in the early fifties largely for the men working in Malton on the Avro arrow. It is south of Queen Street, west of Churchill Road South and east of the railway tracks.
The nice and wide tree-lined streets in this neighbourhood are Longfield, Meadvale, Westcott, Roseford, Orville, Wynford & Mowbray. The neighbourhood is close to shops and restaurants as well as the Go Train Station. Just off Mowbray is Sir Donald Mann Park with a playground, softball diamond and washroom.For commuters, there’s handy access to the Acton GO Station.
The elementary schools that service this area are St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School and Mckenzie-Smith Bennett Public School.
The secondary schools that service this area are Christ the King Secondary School, Georgetown District High School and Acton District High School.
